What to expect/what we cover

Referral to see Mr Clarke at the Woodlands or Friarage hospital will be arranged by your G.P who may have already carried out a comprehensive review of your condition. You may potentially already have a diagnosis, however it is important to discuss you symptoms and medical history at your first consultation.

You may need some investigations to determine the cause of your symptoms and to establish if surgery is required. These tests can include:

• Blood tests
• X rays
• CT scan/MRI scan
• Colonoscopy
• Gastroscopy
• Ultrasound scan

Common surgery carried out routinely by Mr Clarke includes:

• Laparoscopic hernia repair
• Laparoscopic bowel surgery
• Laproscopic appendicectomy
• Surgical repair of anal fissures and anal fistulae
